그리스 글자와 첫 소리 탐험 — Exploring Greek Letters and Sounds

원본 1주차(헬라어 알파벳과 발음 체계)를 11세 아이가 이해할 수 있도록 쉬운 말과 놀이로 다시 만든 자료입니다.

Ⅰ. 오늘 배울 것 — What We'll Learn Today

옛날 그리스 사람들은 오늘날 우리가 쓰는 알파벳(a, b, c...)과는 다른 24개의 특별한 글자를 썼어요.
Long ago, Greek people used 24 special letters — different from the a, b, c we use today.
이 글자들은 신약성경이 처음 쓰여진 언어이기도 해요. 그래서 이 글자를 아는 건 아주 오래된 보물지도를 읽는 열쇠를 갖는 것과 같아요!
These letters are also the language the New Testament was first written in — so learning them is like holding the key to a very old treasure map!
오늘은 그중 몇 가지 재미있는 글자와 소리를 배우고, 내 이름의 첫 글자도 그리스 글자로 써볼 거예요.
Today we'll learn a few fun letters and sounds, and even write the first letter of your name in Greek.

Ⅱ. 재미있는 그리스 글자 6개 — 6 Fun Greek Letters

한국어
English
Α α (알파) — 우리말 '아'와 비슷하게 소리 나요. 영어 alphabet(알파벳)의 'alpha'가 바로 이 글자예요!
Α α (alpha) — sounds like 'ah'. It's where the English word 'alphabet' gets its 'alpha' from!
Β β (베타) — 우리말 'ㅂ' 소리예요. 물건을 시험해볼 때 쓰는 영어 단어 'beta test'의 그 'beta'예요.
Β β (beta) — makes a 'b' sound. It's the same 'beta' in 'beta test'!
Γ γ (감마) — 'ㄱ' 소리가 나요. 슈퍼히어로 영화에 나오는 'gamma ray(감마선)'의 그 감마랍니다.
Γ γ (gamma) — makes a 'g' sound. It's the same 'gamma' from 'gamma ray' in superhero movies.
Δ δ (델타) — 세모(삼각형)처럼 생겼어요! 강물이 바다와 만나는 삼각형 모양 땅을 'delta(삼각주)'라고 부르는 이유예요.
Δ δ (delta) — it's shaped like a triangle! That's why a triangle-shaped river mouth is called a 'delta'.
Ω ω (오메가) — 알파벳 중 맨 마지막 글자예요. '알파와 오메가'라는 말은 '처음과 끝'이라는 뜻이에요.
Ω ω (omega) — the very last letter. The phrase 'the alpha and the omega' means 'the beginning and the end.'
Θ θ (쎄타) — 우리말에 없는 소리라 신기해요! 영어 'th' 소리(think의 th)와 비슷하게 냅니다.
Θ θ (theta) — a sound Korean doesn't have! It sounds similar to the English 'th' in 'think'.

Ⅲ. 숨소리 놀이 — The Breathing Game

그리스 글자는 단어 맨 앞에 '숨 표시'를 붙여요. 하나는 '후~' 하고 바람을 내며 시작하고(유기식), 하나는 바람 없이 시작해요(무기식).
Greek words put a little 'breathing mark' at the start. One starts with a puff of air ('h' sound), and one starts with no air at all.
놀이: 손등에 입김을 불며 'ha!' 하고 말해보세요 — 그게 유기식이에요. 이번엔 입김 없이 조용히 'a' — 그게 무기식이에요.
Try it: blow a puff of air on the back of your hand and say 'ha!' — that's the rough breathing. Now say 'a' quietly with no air — that's the smooth breathing.

Ⅳ. 세션 흐름 (30분) — Session Flow (30 Minutes)

  • 웜업 (5분) — 그리스 글자 카드 6장을 보여주고 "이거 본 적 있어?"(간마선, 삼각주 사진과 연결) 이야기 나누기
Warm-up (5 min) — Show the 6 letter cards and ask "Have you seen this before?" connecting to gamma ray / delta pictures.
  • 글자 소리 익히기 (10분) — 카드를 하나씩 보여주며 소리 내어 3번씩 따라 하기
Sound practice (10 min) — Show each card and repeat the sound three times together.
  • 숨소리 놀이 (5분) — 유기식/무기식 손등 입김 놀이
Breathing game (5 min) — The rough/smooth breathing hand game.
  • 내 이름 쓰기 (7분) — 이름 첫 글자를 그리스 글자로 바꿔 써보기 (예: 민준 → Μ)
Write your name (7 min) — Turn the first letter of your name into a Greek letter (e.g., Minjun → Μ).
  • 마무리 퀴즈 (3분) — 카드를 섞어서 다시 보여주고 소리 맞히기 게임
Wrap-up quiz (3 min) — Shuffle the cards and play a guess-the-sound game.

Ⅴ. 강의 대화 원고 예시 — Sample Teacher Script (한영대역)

Teacher: Hi! Today we're going to be letter detectives. Ready? 얘들아 안녕! 오늘은 우리가 '글자 탐정'이 될 거예요. 준비됐나요? Teacher: Look at this letter — Δ. What shape does it look like? 이 글자를 봐요 — Δ. 어떤 모양처럼 생겼나요? Child: A triangle! 세모요! Teacher: Exactly! That's why we call a triangle-shaped river land a "delta." 맞아요! 그래서 삼각형 모양의 강가 땅을 "델타"라고 불러요. Teacher: Now let's try the breathing game — blow air and say "ha!" 이제 숨소리 놀이를 해볼까요 — 입김을 불면서 "하!" 해보세요. Child: Ha! Teacher: Great job! You just made your first Greek breathing mark. 아주 잘했어요! 방금 첫 그리스어 숨 표시를 만들었어요.

Ⅵ. 다음 주 예고 — Next Week Preview

다음 주에는 그리스어로 '그(the)'라는 단어와 '말씀(λόγος, 로고스)' 같은 단어를 배우며 나만의 그리스어 단어장을 만들어볼 거예요.
Next week, we'll learn the Greek word for 'the' and words like 'word' (λόγος, logos), and start our very own Greek word notebook.
